I used one of my thumbnails to experiment with the volcanic cave concept focusing more on colour and light, I feel that I have taken the image too far because I prefered the bright light in the earlier stages. The angle also might look better at the side so that some of the structure of the cave can been seen. The purple light seems to suit this scene well, I could also try a subtle blue light for surrounding elements to make the space appear darker as an underground space.
