I did these before the tutorial so I won't continue with these but I took the Hoopoe and broke it up into simplified shapes, mainly spheres that I tweaked and shapes from my research. It shows a start of thinking about designing for a specific audiecne but obviously need a logic now before I do anymore.
2 and 5 has very interesting shapes. I like the cuteness of 2 and the mischievous feel to 5

Also - Try adding the beak from no.5 onto no.2. Scale it to match the size of No.2's beak though. - just as an experiment.
