Developed Influenza ideas

I was trying to simplify the previous ideas and add characteristic features for how the virus could look like. The strongest ideas is the middle bottom sketch with different sizes of tentacles and the top right image because they are both unusal and starting to approach something interesting organically.

Thumbnails - developing ideas for the bloodstream

I looked at different ways of interpretating this space, changing the shape and function to a vortex.

Thumbnails of inside cell

I decide to think about the space inside the cell and what form the RNA could take, continuing my inspiration from organic forms I decided to go for something very root or branch like. I also consider the space to become an obstacle for the virus so forms are more random when trying to push through to the RNA

@Phil - Music

Hi Phil i have found a list of music from www.royaltyfreemusic.com but everytime i click on them it asks about payment but i thought the whole point of the site was so they are FREE so a little confused

basically can you please tell me how do i download them for free?

Thanks in advance

Concept - Bloodstream (WIP Idea)

This a concept idea based on one of the thumbnail ideas I drew up yesterday looking at the inner space as an alien world to fit the SCI FI theme and style. I envision the bloodstream as a cavern chamber with hardly any light and strange pillar like structures that make up some of the interesting forms inside the body.

These are the progression stages where I made certain decisions to change certain shapes, etc. The massive change I made in the final stages was to lose all the mysterious lighting because although this made the space feel alien it was too removed from an interior space.

As in the previous concept I experiemented with lighting trying some of the previous techniques and some new ones, the bottom image was interesting with the flood of red feels like it fits within this space but also has the impression of Mars and an unusual space.

Three Act Structure Breakdown

This identifies briefly what I want to happen in each stage and where I want the camera to be, I'm not sure if this is enough for two minutes so might have to look into a longer start and finish based on the previous ideas of how it enters and exits the body in the first place but tried a draft version without them because I didn't want to over complicate the animation.

Script Breakdown:

Act 1 – The Attachment Stage

The camera is stationed along the wall of the blood chamber as the red blood cells float past, it slowly pans round to show the virus slowly drifting into view and floating in amongst the red blood cells.

The camera zooms into the virus as it moves its front spines forward capturing one of the cells and slowly moves some of its outer spines to wrap around it.

The virus burrows itself into the cell through the process of Endocytosis, pushing its way through the outer membrane.

Act 2 – The Fusion Stage

Once inside the cell the virus floats to the RNA chamber, the camera tracks the movement as it looks for this space.

The camera zooms in on the virus as it parts front spines and releases RNP that drifts up to the RNA.

The RNP connect to the RNA network which causes it to become infected, this is shown by a change of colour, mutation, withering of the structure? And break away as viron proteins.

Act 3 – The Budding Stage

The new viral RNA is encased in a protein and are transported together to sites at the cell’s surface.

The viral RNA begin to force themselves to the cell membrane, the camera cuts to outside the blood cell as viruses grow from it. The viruses are then released and the camera pans round as they float off into the darkness.

The camera looks back to show that the cell as died shown through the form becoming withered and decayed, the camera cuts back to zoom round to see the viruses floating alongside the blood cells to cycle process. Camera fades to black.

Beginning Thumbnails

Through these thumbnails I have started to think about the space that will stage the animation. I have tried a few sketches of what I thought about recently thinking of the bloodstream as a cave or a chamber with complicated pillars and arches. The fifth image is the one I feel is stonger and would like to experiement  with as a concept piece.

Ideas for Red Blood cells

I began sketching designs for the red blood cells, I looked at the research that broke away from the usual shape and played around with what the cell could look like. I want it to look a bit more basic compared to the virus so there is a clear distinction between the two and so the audience wouldn't be confused.
