Emmet from Lego Movie

Emmet from the Lego Movie
Created following a tutorial from MR H on youtube, I used my own judgement on textures, lighting and stage set up. This was a lot of fun and will look into creating more Lego models as I have the generic model set up so could be fun to make a whole bunch of mini figures.

Below are some of the different stages of construction

ADZ Toys Update: Bossman Modelled

I finally update the next stage as only just had chance to work more into this project, the modelling stage is no complete!

This is the base model that I will edit for all designs I produce.

This is the first of my creations "Boss man" a limited edition figure of the collection I am going to eventually produce, using characters from film, game, TV etc in this style. I will eventually make the base also at the end but going to layout UV's and texture this one.

Dalek Textured

I'm sorry for the delay in posts due to working between different projects and job hunting, etc

But anyway I have textured the dalek!

I am happy how this is going so far and have remodeled some sections that I felt wasn't working in the previous version. I have put up two versions, one normal and one with the eye star and side head lights glowing which I will animate in the end sequence that I hope to create.

Lighting is temporary and will now look at highlights and different material behaviors and play more around with lighting.

Dalek Model

I have decided to do something a bit different and felt would be a bit of challenge and choose a Dalek from 2005-2009. I have will move forward and texture this and will also try and rig it so that I can animate it a bit as well

Yamaha Xenter 125 - Texture and Lighting

I seem to go in the dark for long bursts at a time but I have been working on other things through my internship and also working on a secret project with one of my friends.

I shall aim to become productive with my own work so that I can display more current samples, so to start off I went back to Yamaha Xenter model to texture and light it. I will create a turnaround for this at some point as well.

Jack Frost MK 2 Turnaround Render Layers

Just a quick update to show that the components are all setup and ready to render which I hope to begin Sunday. I am going to overlay the Outline pass with the Geometry pass as it came out more clearer.

Jack Frost Mk 2 - Mudbox Final Model

Over the last few days, I have been working into my model using Mudbox, I did some trails first and eventually produced a version I was happy with. I extracted a normal map from what I did in Mudbox and then added that to my model.

Time Travel Transitions for the four appearing Logos

I read Alan's comment and he suggested quickly putting up transitions of how each 'time travel' would work so taking and editing the render versions (most current look for logos) I tried to do this.

Final Renders

Now the scene has been set up I brought the logos in to produce a bunch of finished renders as well as a group shot at the end to look at scale and positions.

Final Textures and Lighting

I had a lot of help from Alan the last couple of days to refine the textures and lighting. I have learnt and realized useful tips to create highlights and to really advance from to more detailed textures.

Demo Reel Shot

Using the same set up for my Final Renders, I edited the camera angle and pose to make it feel more dynamic. I wasn't sure if I would composite a video turnaround in time but have done a lot more to this model than I thought possible and happy with the outcome. I may update the demo reel at a later time and get a video turnaround done depending on the feedback tomorrow.

Final Render Shots

I decided to produce still images my final outcome as a gallery style render that was in the tutorials. They are of the four major angles to give a sense of the 3D quality of the model.

Spiders Textured

I had a thought of what would be required for the spider when the lighting and the bright red light are brought in later and remembered that as a group we decided on simple textures

Therefore I have not produced UV maps for the spiders because I felt the details would be dominated by the central red glow coming from the eye and they are shown much in the trailer, just as brief glimpses of presence.

I have chosen a wine colour for the eye because this clearly indicates the source of where the red glow would come from and in my mind, this is the colour of the eye when it's not glowing. I have textured the rest to give the spiders a shiny metalic feel to capture the period feel of the 30's - 60's.
