Dragon Painting/ Fantasy art

I have been working on something different over the past couple of days to try out something different. I decided to produce an actual painting using acrylics on canvas to explore hand painting techniques and to understand more of how I paint outside the computer screen.

I tried to give the image a graphic/ concept painted feel but also left evidence of physical brush making. I unfortunately dont have a step by step of the build up but was really happy when this painting was finally resolved. I hope to try and replicate some of the techniques and brush skills that I developed in this image into future concept paintings.

Creature silhouttes

These are silhoutte ideas for the minor project I have decided to do for an insect creature concept. I took the stronger design ideas and pushed them further to gain six developed silhouttes. I will now pick one or two of these ideas and work back into these in my sketchbook to hopefully give me a final idea and a turnabout page to get better understanding for the anatomical structure.
