Jack Frost MK 2 - Rig Set up

Another Update to show that the Rigging is finished and this character is ready to pose, I am going to research around this and try some things before rendering a turnaround. I am also thinking about making a few props e.g. ice formations that can appear in the background to make the space around the character come to life.

Jack Frost MK 2 - Skinned

I am ready to set up the controls, I am aiming to have a turnaround finished for this character for now but might return to this if I get more time as I am also currently working on other projects. So far I am happy with this character and seems to be moving forward smoothly.

Jack Frost MK 2 - Model Complete

I have finally finished modelling the character as I had a few issues with the head and head piece on some occasions but eventually got it to a stage that I wanted. I shall layout the UV's first and hope to add further details in Mudbox to bring out more of the design of the armor and ice formations.

Ralph and Dylon Lighting

I had a play around with lighting to try and stylize something for both characters, for Ralph I went for something softer and warm, whereas Dylon has a more theatrical and horror - like feel.

Ralph and Dylon Walk Cycle 3

For Ralph's cycle I have added the candy cane and sorted out the foot placement and Dylon's Cycle, I have slowed down the animation in the fingers.

Anymore feedback would be welcome by anyone but starting feel that these are coming together.

Dylon Walk Cycle Development 2

Made the fingers move a bit slower and sorted out the walk, might still be some issues that need fixing for the next development.

Ralph Walk Cycle Development 2

I have changed some of settings and sorted out the walk so that it doesn't look like it is sliding along when walking forwards. In the next development I shall experiment with the speed of the arms swinging and slow that down a bit and I shall include the candy cane.

Dylon Walk Cycle 1 Development

As with Ralph's cycle, this is early development and the basis of what I want. I have gone for the opposite of Ralph, more bent over and in a scheming pose to represent the villain. I now need to go back over both walk cycles and work on the timing issues and refine them.

Ralph Walk Cycle Development 1

This is only the first stage in developing this but decided that Ralph would have a more positive and upbeat walk whereas Dylon will be more crouched over and in a scheming stance. I will try and refine this but this is has roughly laid out what I am aiming for. I shall get Dylon's walk to this stage  and then work to refine both as I move forward.

Dylon Rigged

I managed to get through this a lot quicker from what I did for Ralph so now both characters are ready for posing and turnarounds. I will research into music next that will feature in the turnarounds and try and gather some alternatives that I could use.

Ralph Rigged

I have set up the controls I need for Ralph so ready for the turnaround and if there is time then also a walk cycle. I will now rig Dylon to make him ready as well.

Dylon Skinned

Dylon is now skinned and I am now ready to start rigging both characters and get them prepared for posing for their turnarounds.

Ralph Skinned

Took some time to get this as right as I could but feel happy so will repeat the process for Dylon next.

Dylon Final Normal map

Chose roughly the same settings and the same light connects the face to bring that out.

Ralph Final Normal Map

I have also made other adjustments such as adding an area light that is connected to the face to bring out the colour more as previously it was quite dark. I have also sorted out the problem of the ambient map around the mouth as there were black bits before but now looking cleaner. I shall apply this to Dylon.

Ralph and Dylon Texturing

I put the same glossiness to skin and eyes for both characters to give a bit more of a reflection and lift them from the clothes.

Toy Prop 2 - Wooden Block Modelling

This was much easier to make as it could have flat sides.
