Ciliated Cells Texture development

Found these textures for bark, petals, stone and sand as these materials give the quality of a living or dead form and felt this would be good for the alive and dead cell.

I played around with these textures to get a range of results mixing texture of material and colour.

From the texture tiles I layed them over the models, playing around with the colour settings trying to get the right look. I prefer the bottom image as this experiment best matches the concept.


  1. personally, I like the 3rd tester render - with the milkier colours. More nuanced and organic somehow?

  2. thanks for your comment Phil i was just concerned that the milky colours would clash with the pale sickly colours of the virus but looking at the renders with fresh eyes I can understand what you mean and will take this into consideration
